Well, I believe it is long past time that I updated you on all my adventures. To be honest the majority of the past month has been mostly just writing papers and other homework, but the end has come. Melinda and I hosted an amazing forum on Fossil Fuel Divestment at EMU, gathered 157 signatures towards our petition, began planning our approach for this summer, and that’s just campaign related!
In other news, I have a job! A little over a week ago, I started working at Chick-Fil-A, and so far, I love it. Being on my feet for long stretches of time wears me out, but everyone I work with is friendly and that makes it worth it. I would have started earlier, but on my “first” day I wrecked my moped on the way there when my wheel got stuck in a train track and threw me. Fortunately, the main damage was only some bruising, a black eye, and a bit of road rash. I’m healing amazingly well, and despite it being so soon after the wreck, am almost back into tip-top condition.
This summer, I have also been living on my own… sorta. I don’t have internet at my place yet, so I’ve been coming over to my parents every few days just to check my email… hence the lack of posts… I just don’t always have a lot of time on my hands! Nevermind that the most exciting stuff you would get to hear is what I made for lunch (usually a turkey sandwich) and anything out of the ordinary that happened at work… which so far, hasn’t been much.
Lost of love, Mandi Jo
