Cream together and beat until fluffy
½ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
Add (and beat well)
2 well-beaten eggs
1 Tablespoon milk
2 ½ cup sifted flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon nutmeg
Add sifted ingredients to creamed mixture
Shape into mound, wrap in wax paper and chill thoroughly.
Roll on board, lightly “floured” with confectioners’ sugar until dough is approximately ¼” thick.
Then place cookie on lightly greased baking sheets.
Bake @ 375 for approximately 8 minutes
- Dip cookie cutter in confectioners’ sugar before cutting each cookie
