Mix

¾ cup soft shortening

1 cup sugar

1 egg

¼ cup molasses

Add

2 cup flour

2 teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

¾ teaspoon cloves

¾ teaspoon ginger

Form into balls approximately the size of walnuts and roll in sugar

Place approximately 2” apart on a greased baking sheet

Bake @ 375 for approximately 10-12 minutes
